Why Should I Give Tithes & Offering?

Obedience to God's Commandments: Paying tithes and offering is an act of obedience to God's commandments. In Malachi 3:10, God says, "Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house."

Acknowledging God's Ownership: Paying tithes and offering acknowledges that everything we have belongs to God. In Proverbs 3:9, it says, "Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce."

Supporting the Work of the Church: Tithes and offering help support the ministry and the work of the church. In 1 Corinthians 9:14, Paul writes, "In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel."
