Why Should I Give Tithes & Offering?
  • Obedience to God's Commandments: Paying tithes and offering is an act of obedience to God's commandments. In Malachi 3:10, God says, "Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house."

  • Acknowledging God's Ownership: Paying tithes and offering acknowledges that everything we have belongs to God. In Proverbs 3:9, it says, "Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce."

  • Supporting the Work of the Church: Tithes and offering help support the ministry and the work of the church. In 1 Corinthians 9:14, Paul writes, "In the same way, the Lord commanded that those who proclaim the gospel should get their living by the gospel."

  • Meeting the Needs of the Needy: Tithes and offering contribute to helping the less fortunate and those in need. In Deuteronomy 14:28-29, it states, "At the end of every three years you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in the same year and lay it up within your towns. Then the Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance with you, and the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your towns, shall come and eat and be filled."

  • Receiving God's Blessings: Paying tithes and offering can lead to blessings from God. In Malachi 3:10, God promises, "Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need."

  • Investing in Eternal Treasures: By giving tithes and offering, we invest in eternal treasures rather than earthly wealth. Matthew 6:19-20 says, "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven."

  • Demonstrating Gratitude: Paying tithes and offering is a way to express gratitude to God for His provision. In 2 Corinthians 9:11, Paul writes, "You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God."

  • Cultivating a Generous Heart: Tithing and giving offering help cultivate a generous and compassionate heart. Proverbs 11:25 states, "Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered."

  • Trusting in God's Provision: Paying tithes and offering demonstrates our trust in God's provision for our lives. In Philippians 4:19, Paul assures, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

  • Honoring God with Our Finances: Tithes and offering are a way to honor God with our finances, recognizing that He is the source of all blessings. Proverbs 3:9-10 says, "Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; then your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine."
